The team

Tim Held

Tim brings more than 38 years of engineering and technical leadership experience in space craft propulsion and complex space systems. His propulsion expertise spans the design, analysis, development, integration, and testing of systems supporting the Space Shuttle, multiple interplanetary missions, the Orion spacecraft, commercial communications satellites, and strategic national-security programs. He also contributed to the Space Shuttle Challenger return-to-flight investigation.

Tim's carrer culminated in senior engineering leadership as Director of Engineering at Lockheed Martin, followed by eight years at Ball Aerospace (now BAE Systems) as Chief Engineer and Technical Fellow, providing technical leadership and independent expertise on some of the industry's most challenging space-system programs.

In parallel with his aerospace career, Tim served 24 years in U.S Navy Intelligence as a reserve officer, commanding intelligence units and retiring at the rank of Captain (O-6). This experience provides him with a distinctive understanding of national security missions, strategic assets, and the intelligence data that supports them.

Tim has also served for nine years on the Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board at Colorado State University, helping strengthen the connection between engineering education and the evolving needs of the aerospace industry.

Roger McNamara

With 44 years in aerospace, Dr. Roger McNamara has orbital debris research, space vehicle design, and human deep-space exploration. He led NASA's historic Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 and managed key commercial and DOD programs. A 46-year AIAA member, he has earned numerous awards and supports aerospace education through lectures and research at the University of Colorado. Dr. McNamara holds Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering degrees from Embry-Riddle and the University of Colorado.
